One of the most popular themes of our time is ''TAKING CHARGE''.
In dealing with the issues of lives, career, relationships & finances, we love to be our own boss or be in control since it reduces fear & nervousness. Many of us wouldn't mind driving a 100km/hr as long as we are the one's holding the steering, because being in-charge produces a certain level of comfort.
In my few years of theoritical & pragmatic study of the world & the word, one question l've always kept asking myself is whether
'' OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD PROCURES FOR US IMMUNITY AGAINST OPPOSITION OR RESISTANCE? & whether THE EMERGENCE OF CONTRARY WINDS IS ALWAYS A RED ALERT THAT WE ARE NOT IN THE WILL OF GOD?
While it is true that sometimes God allows storms & contrary winds to bring us back on track like Jonah, storms in themselves may not necessarily indicate MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. Oftentimes, the enemy uses it as a 'discouraging tool' to frustrate people out of God's best. Whenever u are doing your best for God; praying, paying your tithe, being a loving father or a caring wife, u expect everything to be just fine. Sometimes u just don't understand why the more u try to make something work, the more they spiral out of control. This introduces a certain level of skeptism & uncertainty in our lives. If Jesus & His disciples(Mark 4:35-40) encountered it on the sea, then get ready, u will encounter it too.
What we need to understand in life is that the direction of the winds of life, is not in our control. Infact, there were no 'outboard motors' in the time of Jesus, so sailors depended on the winds as their outboard motor. The problem therefore was not the wind but its direction. If it blew in the right direction it helped the journey, but it became problematic when it blew at the wrong direction. What do u do, when something that is supposed to FACILITATE your journey is rather trying to INCAPACITATE it?
Many face opposition the wrong way, the weep, throw in the towel & continue their pity-party. Contrary to the popular opinion that God gave us the 'tear gland' only to remind us of events that will cause us to shed tears, scientce has proven beyond doubt that tears serve as a 'sini qua non'(an essential) tool for clearing the eyes. Jesus was on His way to enforce & fulfill a prophetic word spoken by
Jacob (Gen 49:19) over his son Gad that, ''Gad a troop shall overcome him, but he shall overcome at last''.
In Mark 4&5, Jesus set out on a journey to free the mad man at the tomb of Gadarene(from Gad), possessed by a Legion of demons (troop), all of a sudden the devil tried to sink their boat when he sensed the manifestation of the prophetic. Jesus did what most of us refuse to do when we face opposition. He spoke to the wind & it obeyed. Your tongue is the outboard motor directing the boat of your destiny. Whenever an eagle sees a storm, it stretches it wings, face the storm & allows itself to cruise to the next level. When u face opposition don't say WHY ME, say TRY ME. Your opposition is a sure sign of prophecy about to be fulfilled.
DON'T GIVE THAT DREAM UP !!!!
